American Fork Marching Band...

Andrew is playing in the American Fork Marching Band this year. They are the best high school band in the state of Utah. Last year they were invited to be in the Macy's Parade in New York. Too bad Andrew wasn't in it that year...that would have been fun!

He has really enjoyed getting to know such good kids and leaders. They practice almost every week day of the summer for at least 2.5 hours. On Thursdays they practice for 5.5 hours. They have band camps and clinics all summer as well.

Andrew is in the pit/auxiliary, so he doesn't march in the parades, just plays in the field shows and competitions.

They have been invited to compete at nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana this fall. They are working very hard on their numbers for that competition. They put on a free concert, along with a couple of other nice local bands, for the community. It was really fun watching him play the chimes.

Go Andrew. The AF Marching Band experience is one that will serve to train you for so much in the future! Good luck in Indianapolis!
