Realmente dovrei imballare...

Which translated from Italian means... I really should be packing!

I really have so many things that I should be doing right now, but I am currently sitting on my computer blogging. Seems logical, right? Sometimes there is just so much to do that you don't even know where to begin. Which happens quite often to me, and I tend to simply avoid the tasks at hand and do something entirely unecessary (like blogging). I am doing loads of laundry while I wait for pictures to upload, does that count as working?

Rick & Andrew are on their high-adventure in Yellowstone, Janessa is at Girl's Camp, and Harrison & Nathan are at a Sundance Kids camp today and tomorrow. I should be accomplishing so much right now!

I am leaving for my trip to Italy in 3 days, 23 hours, 29 minutes and 30 seconds (thanks to my Facebook countdown clock which I am starting to hate). I am going (by myself) to visit my sister Karen. She and her husband are currently serving in the Rome, Italy mission. She has blocked out 3 weeks of amazing sight-seeing, with some missionary work, a wedding to organize (a couple in their ward) and a service project (an older lady in Naples who needs help) mixed in. President Acerson will be doing interviews all over the Rome mission and so we will get to see a lot of the country.

I will be posting many, many pictures and stories during my trip (hopefully). If it is too obnoxious, I am sorry, nobody is obligated to read or look at any of it. I mostly have this blog for my Mom & Dad, Karen, and the rest of my family far away. I also plan on printing it out at the end of the year and using it as my family scrapbook/journal. I think it will also be nice for Rick & the kids to see where I am at. I asked Rick to post some things as well, so I can see what they are doing, but I'm not sure that will happen.

I am excited beyond belief, but also so nervous about leaving my family for that long. I told someone this problem the other day... I don't think it is fair to be a mother. You are constantly with your kids 24/7, helping them with everything day and night. All you want is a break, just some time alone for once. Then, you finally get to the point of leaving and getting that trip of a lifetime and you cry every night because you miss your kids so much. I don't think moms can ever be happy!

Well, enough rambling. I'm going to catch up a few things here on the blog and then I'm off to finish up packing, cleaning and writing out a 3-week schedule for poor Rick.

Arrivederci...
